THE PATHWAY TO THE STARS LIES BENEATH YOUR FEET

themangotree Gil De Ray has the ability to move in many directions musically with the influence of Japanese ambient sounds, Harold Budd and pre- and post-Can Holgar Czukay; the otherworld experience of lockdown as well as his trips around the world (Vietnam, New Orleans, Berlin) driving the musical textures in his latest album. 2020 has seen Gil De Ray take a new musical path and for me it's a different but very welcome addition to his now extensive output. Highly recommended.

about

This album was inspired by and is dedicated to the sacred mushroom. Psilocybin is the pathway to the stars, the mycelium beneath our feet is the cosmic expressway.
I wrote and recorded this album during Covid 19 lockdown. Music to read books to. Music to take mushrooms to. Music to do whatever you want to.
There is a 50 minute movie to accompany the music, that i made on my travels to Dorset, Cornwall, Hamburg, Beirut, Baalbeck and Saigon amongst other places.
Hope you enjoy the ride.
Peace
Gil
